Receiving, Inspection, Storage, Pick Up and Delivery
Receiving
A completed Receiving Request form is required prior to To The Trade quoting, receiving and inspecting any merchandise. This form prompts you to answer specific questions that will enable us to expedite pricing and terms to you. Completed forms may be submitted online, e-mailed or faxed to our office. We will confirm within one business day that we received your request and will follow up with any pertinent questions.
If at all possible, please let us know, or ask the carrier to let us know, when to expect a merchandise delivery. All freight charges must be prepaid with your carrier or a charge of 10% will be incurred on all items that are received COD.
Inspection
Our warehouse staff is professionally trained to follow every precaution when receiving your clients’ investment. We visually inspect all items and notify you promptly of any damages that may have occurred during shipping or from the manufacturer. After final inspection, and when requested repairs have been completed, items are prepared for storage and/or immediate delivery.
Storage
We provide complimentary 14-day climate-controlled, secured warehousing for all items we receive and inspect. After 14 days, storage services are billed at $3 per week for an average size piece and $5 per week for an over-sized piece (anything over 4' x 6'). Invoicing occurs on the first of each month.
Pick Up or Delivery
Our Pick Up and Delivery Form will prompt you to answer specific questions that will enable us to expedite pricing and terms to you. Completed forms may be submitted online, e-mailed or faxed to our office. Once your shipment is received, our logistics coordinator will contact you and your client to set up the delivery and installation. We schedule deliveries within a two-hour window and our trucks and drivers are equipped with GPS systems and cellular phones so we can ensure prompt arrival and communicate unexpected delays.
All large installations are typically scheduled between 8 and 9 a.m. To The Trade's experienced crews are at your service and led by our special project managers. The designer sets the pace for what needs to be done from the final placement of furniture to clearing away debris caused by the delivery. A final walk through is always completed prior to dismissing our crews.
We do not chance damaging your clients’ investment during inclement weather. If weather is a threat, the delivery will be rescheduled, at no charge, as soon as possible. We deduct $10 per hour if we are the cause for the delivery to run late. Deliveries cancelled less than one business day in advance will incur a $39.95 cancellation fee. Special circumstances will be considered.
